To renew the timing BELTS( there are two), you have to remove: deep breath....

Right hand engine mount
Alternator
Power steering pump
Oil cooler
Air conditioning compressor
Lots of other 'bits'
Drain engine oil
Remove dipstick tube

Yup, great little car, great chassis, let down by poor build quality and poor marketing.
