Yes, the NHS. In particular, my GP.
Went for my annual blood pressure and cholesterol check on Friday. Got a call from the receptionist this afternoon asking me to make an appointment as a follow up. The conversation:

Why do I need an appointment? Were there any markers in my blood test.
No, all normal.
So my bloods were ok and my blood pressure is fine. Why the appointment?
Erm, it's just to discuss your CHD.
What's CHD?
Coronary heart disease.
I haven't got coronary heart disease.
Ermm.....I'm not a medical person, I don't know.
Well.....can you message the doctor with reference to my imaginary CHD and, if he wants to see me, you can make me an imaginary appointment.

Ok. Thank you. Bye.

Steve, I know where you are coming from,
Had pretty much the same......Already had an 'annual check in February, now they want another one, 'to be in line with my birthday'.
Message to say book online through NHS app. So just tried...went to Appointments....Book an appointment...Are you booking for  a: A smear test  b: A pregnancy test  c: a B12 injection    d: An Asthma check  :o :o :o :o
Couldn't get any further, I'm already 2 months past my birthday, so sod 'em.
The only caveat is that if I don't do it soon, they stop my tablets. So I suppose its back to trying day after day to get someone to answer the phone >:( >:(

Just book a pregnancy test, see if anyone dares to challenge you when you turn up.

They'll probably give him the stick to piss on anyway just so that they can tick the box!  ;D

Broadband & landline still off / on every day.
It was down for six days and has now been playing hokey / cokey for the last five days.
Ridiculous in this day & age.
I blame Brexit and Trump. ::)

The ridiculous thing is that although we are with BT, the one thing we apparently cant do is speak to someone on the phone about the issue.   ::)

Don't ignore it if you have have any of the heart failure signs Steve, Swollen ankles, a bit breathless doing fairly mundane things, aches in the back of the neck and shoulders. All a sign of heart failure which i put down to "just getting older".
I'm now in the care of our local heart failure team along with SWMBO. I've had various med changes over the last three or four months and am starting another new (to me) drug tomorrow. I must admit that the speed of my decline has been quite a shock and am hopeful that they can sort it. Get it checked  :y

Seemingly not correctly.  ;D Apologies but have a lot going on regarding SWMBO at the moment so sometimes things are a bit foggy.  :(,

You might want to check anyway - your conversation sounds very similar to one of mine, other than mine was COPD and they have spotted it in a routine CT scan I had the previous year and failed to actually tell me about it.  First I knew about it was when they wanted to review it!

.

The cemeteries  have thousands of occupants who probably thought the same Steve, if your health centre is offering any kind of health check it's worth taking them up on it. I was called in when I was 65 for a heart check and fortunately nothing untoward was found.

You'd need to have a heart to get heart disease?
