Getting home to cold wet weather after 7 weeks of sunshine in Thailand.  ::)   :(

Oh and keeping the railway thread going.... South Western Railways, whose service has become utterly shite since they were nationalised last year. My train terminated at Salisbury today due to a 'signalling fault' and had to sit on a cold windy platform for an hour waiting for the next train that was going down to Exeter.  >:(

I suspect that 'Signalling fault' means the civil servants who run the railway now, were having a LGBTQ alphabet soup meeting or something instead of running a railway!  ::)  :-X
7 weeks in Thailand? You'll be worn out, lad  :-X

Wishing I had bet more than the £50 to my gym partner that I could get down to my " fighting weight " by the end of January, well pleased 2 inches off my waist measurement now a youthful 34 inches, cut out alcohol completely & a very suitable diet for me of  steak & eggs mostly.

You really don't know me very well, I'll never be considered normal..😂
This will probably only be a " temporary blip " once we get back to Spain I expect the beer may be too much to ignore.

Railways again.  This time, HS oppsing 2.  Constantly shutting roads to build a bridge.

That M27 bridge was done in a few days over Christmas I believe.  HS2, on most road bridges round here, about 4 years and counting.  Useless oppsing self-abusers.  And all for a railway that is still looking for a purpose.

I'd have to look back at my vids, but I think it started to get cordonned off in 2020.  Certainly it was during the chinky sniffle period.

Avis

Doing a bit of a road trip for my 48 hours in Portland as positioning afforded me the luxury of not working to get there. Car pre-booked, a Camry because they're comfy and economical but big enough to take a whack or two. Touch less pick up, so find my name on the screen and go to the allocated bay...

Greeted by a Honda Minivan ???

To their credit, they did swiftly offer a Grand Cherokee for no charge. Which was nice.

The idiot that hit the drivers door of the RRS this morning whilst I was parked in Morrisons, made an almighty noise & I expected to see my door caved in, but no hardly a mark couldn't believe it, the front of his 17 reg Vauxhall hadn't fared so well though lots of cracked plastic, he was very apologetic . Told him I wasn't bothered about a tiny bit of his gold paint on my door ( it's gone now magic of Tcut)

Sadly not satisfactorily, the nose is in a bad way, as not only is it crumpled, but its obviously had a chat with the prop during the incident....   ...which helps explain the prop damage.

Normally, I'd have superglued all that foam back together "enough" to continue and chuck it back in the air, but a) I didn't take any glue with me, b) there isn't enough solid EPO left in the nose - its crumpled badly, not obvious in photo.

As we say in the flying community when and EPO plane has a big one, snow everywhere.

I could probably repair it to an extent on the workbench but the nose would remain fragile, but the entire airframe is only £50, it's not worth the effort.  All the electronics, servos, motors etc have survived.
