me, i have to have a pitch black bedroom with blackout curtains and kept cool.
if im on hols when the sun comes into the room im wide awake no matter what time sunrise is !!  
at home my body clock always wakes me up 10 mins b4 my alarm clock

Always wake just before my alarm, but can sleep almost anywhere and anytime --- just close my eyes and I am gone ( If I allow it ).

Depends whether I've to be up in the morning for work. When on earlies I don't seem to sleep very heavily ..... too frightened of oversleeping. When I don't have to be up, I comatose & like Jon a bomb could go off. I slept through the recent-ish tremor :-?

I tend to sleep in 2 to 3 hour bursts - wake up, check time, go back to sleep.

Always wake just before the alarm goes too.

As for falling asleep, I tend to stick a DVD on for some back ground noise, I cant sleep in total silence for some reason, guess I'm just odd

Many many moons ago when I was in the Navy .... swing the lamp! ..... I used to have problems with the quiet of being 'shore side' when you were used to the general noise of a ship at sea.

Usually takes me a little while to drift off ,then I get about 6 hours of good kip.Used to get a good 8 or 9 hours when I was younger but tend to sleep less as the years go by.
Fall to sleep straight away with the aid of grog but have more fragmented and less deep sleep.

Lol 3Q stokers messdeck on Devonshire class above ACU used to sing me to sleep. Now in competition with 4 staffordshire bull terriers that sneak in the bedroom as soon as they here me snore.

In front of the television, usually.

TV relaxes me, so I go to sleep.  If I turn the TV off, I find something to do, then I can't settle down to sleep because I'm not relaxed.  

I can't cope with 8 hours a night - I function better on 4 - 5 hours, but sometimes I have a nice long lie-in on Sunday.  Not today - another bloody grin-and-bear-it car boot sale  How do people acquire the crap they sell at these places?  They can't all have such poor taste as to have actually bought it

how I sleep:


Mostly 02-03 am I go sleep..

but can also sleep in day time..if silent..

and always close my head with a t-shirt to go sleep quickly

must be a bit warm else cant sleep in cold..

close my ears for silence ,

wake up to pee many times in the night

and always turn my right side ..left side disturbs me..

and need half an hour to wake up

Usally very well. Though the slightest noise outa the ordinary & i'm awake, but soon back off again once i know all's ok.
