Bliar and his mrs were the start of this crap! I cannot believe that WE are accepting this. Until someone, US do something about it then we are fooked as a British nation as most of us know it. I am on the south coast of England atm, and the SWIMBO and I decided to go for a drink in a local saloon, so we ordered a taxi taking our dog with us. Nope, all taxis refused to take us as all the drivers were muslim ffs.
If anybody wants to look at my profile, please do as you will get an idea why I do not like these people.
WE ARE FOOKED!  >:( >:(

You need to find a better taxi company.

There's a legitimate allergen reason to refuse dogs, some car hire places will refuse to give you the car if you rock up with a pooch. But if you've made it clear when you booked that you will have a dog with you, and their only reason to refuse you is a religious one once they have accepted the job then there's a case to be made for discrimination.

I used to take dogs, but I had a caged estate and they always went in the boot. Without exception.

Obviously my dogs sat wherever they wanted except the boot, but whose to tell the customer that ;D

DG, I did try various taxi companies, and most of them refused a dog. I was just making a point of where we are going as a nation. Thin edge of the wedge? More like the middle of the wedge already!  >:D :o

I used to work with a few that were that way inclined. It's surprising just how unprincipled they get when there's money involved :-X Next time you're in town, find a white cabby on the rank, ideally at the back of the queue, buy them a coffee and get chatting, explain what your typical journeys might be, ie to/from /dog etc, and if there's a reasonable chance of going to an airport every so often, that might sweeten things in your favour. Hackney carriage drivers working on the rank might work for a company, but ultimately are free to do what they please. If you happen to live in a different district, they can still come and collect you provided you pre-book and it's convenient to them.

But, I don't think you're too far off the mark in the grand scheme of things.

Even the news get it wrong...according to LBC its in Chesham, which it is not, its in Amersham. Been in there a number of times and I never felt offended   ;D
I'd be offended at the prices, but I'm from up north  ;D
I was paying £7 a pint for frothy german beer in the market in Brumingham yesterday.  And £9 for a hotdog.  Granted, it was a 20" sausage in am enormous roll....

I'm banned by my place of work for saying publicly what I think on a website that I own.
And that's ok because... ???

What's the difference between standing on your driveway and saying what you think and doing so here?

As long as what you say isn't on work time using work equipment then they can go whistle.

Unless,.of course, that working from home makes your property an extension of company property... In which case you might want to rethink the terms of your employment.
I am not allowed to stand on my driveway and say what I think either, unless it's inline with their policies.

Roll on retirement, I can let it all out then ;D

I heard on the news today that the POS accused of the killings of the three young lasses in Southport refused to answer the question of whether he was entering a guilty or not guilty plea. This was asked quite a number  of times, but no response so the court entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf. I'd have gone the other way and told him that the plea entered would be guilty. That might have made him think a bit more about treating the court and peoples lives with utter contempt.

He doesn't see the British legal system as legitimate and therefore feels no need to show any respect. :-\

Any news on the Manchester airport episode?. They also appear to be above the law of the (this)land.

Not if you were married to a headteacher. I'm pretty sure she wishes I was dead sometimes, usually when I'm watching the news.

Yeah, you'll have to wait until she retires ;D

Though reality is, she'll likely murder you first, obviously ;D

I can imagine your commentary might take on a slightly different tone once you retire  ;)

I would tell your employer that this is the UK, not East Germany in the 1970,s.
There is no financial circumstance that would make me put up with living under that kind of threat, which may be why Im always skint ?  ::)
