Petrol nozzles.
« on: 13 May 2025, 11:37:14 »

I have a funny question....are petrol nozzles the same length. Not talking diesel against petrol, but specifically petrol. I'm referring to my Mazda six. When I fill up at Tesco in Brackley, I always stop after the first click. I get a range usually of 490/4. Some garages I have been to I get 465 range. At a garage on Portland, and one at Harmans Cross near Wareham/Swanage, I always get a range of 514 to 520.
Do these nozzles click out at different depths.... ???

Fuel temperature will affect volume, and fuel quality will affect range.

But, no two journeys are exactly identical, so the precise fuel mileage will be broadly comparable ;)

A lot of things impact the cut off, including pump brand.

Find something more important to worry about, like if you've turned off the freezer.....

…………..
Do these nozzles click out at different depths.... ???

My nozzle clicks out at different depths since my heart operation.  :-[  I had a word with my doctor and he said my heart rate of 40bpm isn’t strong enough for both of us, so my nozzle rarely gets to its pre-op length.  ::)
