washer non return valve
« on: 16 May 2025, 12:32:41 »

OK, so looks like Betamax Man has struck again, as I'm struggling to find a non return valve for the car's washer system.

ID of tubing is 3.2mm near the washer jets, which is where I want to fit them, after it flows through something like https://www.ringautomotive.com/en/product/RWC4

Air pipe fitting from a tropical fish tank, air pipe non return maybe do the trick.

Which is fine until you want a 3.2mm one ;D

There are one of 2 about, but are physically too bulky as they have a 1" middle section.

Try the nearest place that sells truck parts as you can't be trusted to use Ebay :)

Or you could try something like THIS

Both those are for 4/5mm tubes Nick W, I've found a million and one of those.   I've tried to get the tubing over, but it aint having any of it despite warming the pipe

For clarity, it need one with the OD to be around 3.2mm (the barb will be a bit bigger, obviously).

Againt I can find loads claiming to be 3.2mm, but the is the valve's ID, with the OD being the more standard 5mm.

I suspect it's because of the sh1te design of their headlamp washers and the fact that they don't bother as standard that he wants them. ;)

Which reminds me...

They can, but its well known JLR's suppliers can't supply a plastic part that lasts more than 10s

Screen washing.  It's a combined T-piece and valve, and is monumentally shite.

Made 10 times worse that the XJ gives 2 quick squirts on the upstroke of the wipers, so can be up to the 3rd attempt before I can get water....
