Cable through the firewall
« on: Yesterday at 13:42:45 »

Hi guys,

I have a little project, to which i need to lead a cable through the firewall. Is there any existing hole what i can use? V6 engine bay. It's just a simple 12v cable, what i want to switch from the drivers seat.

it's been a while ..... but I passed a cable through the bulkhead of my Omega at the bottom of where the cabin filter lives .... (I assume left hand drive & right hand drive are just opposite each other  :-\). There was a factory connector & I passed the cable through near it .... underneath IIRC

Yes, definitely possible. :y  I ran a fused battery live through the large grommet in the bulkhead and then, as Andy said, find an existing cable grommet hole from the scuttle (pollen filter area) to the back of the glovebox.  Once through, it’s easy enough to pull the wire across and over the tunnel to the drivers side.
If you want the cable to go further through the vehicle, the inner sill covers are ideal for hiding cables.  :y

As it was some time back, I’m guessing that my fused power line was to power my caravan live connection for my tow socket, as I didn’t want to cut into the fuse box connection.
