First off not everyone’s cuppa..

Now we have that out of the way, here is a suggestion for April. The two races in Middle East are cancelled. Too many problems arranging alternatives.

Have two events for the F1 drivers. Somewhere like Silverstone. Identical race prepared cars. Select keys from a hat. In fact three races each event. Three completely different vehicles. Bit like the supporting saloon car races back in the good old days!

What do you think

I have better idea:
Keep the cars/rivers  as they are, but, for example, give the best positioned drivers ( probably Russel and Atonelli) Ferrari Engineers  :D

I have no interest in formula 1, but classic saloon cars I could watch all day.

I reckon they should have a demolition derby! Much cheaper and could only be more entertaining to watch. ;D

Rachel Reeves should be offering to host those two races here.

Brands Hatch? Donington Park?

Think of all the extra fuel duty revenue!  :y

Now they were fun!
I went to a few with my boyfriend at the time in the late 60's, and to watch Austin Westminster's , Humber Hawks, Ford Counsels, Vauxhall Crest PA's, etc, crunching each other up was most entertaining! :D :D ;)

Ace fun, yes. Agree with you there Lizzie. But when you see your beloved  Victor 101 being demolished… ?

There was always a Rover 90 or 110 that smashed everything else to bits.

Still fun though!!!

Hopefully, F1 will cancel the rest of the "races". Forever.

Still, Merc doing well is good for the town....

I used to love going to Brands to watch F1. It not a fit track / locaton / facilty for modern F1 unfortunately.

Something like this ?
If my memory serves the F1 drivers took part on a race in these cars during every race weekend.

As  a kid I had an uncle who owned a Victor 101, and I always remember it being huge.

See one today and it looks tiny when compared the the great 'slabs of lard' most cars are today. :-X

Pops had a Victor 101 as a company car We then had I believe a Triumph 2000 O/D (Maybe the other way round as I cant remember) I preferred the Triumph.  The sales Directer had the 2500PI different league again. ::) :y

My mate had a Triumph 2500 S and another mate had the 2000. Both were bought to banger race but were too good not to have some fun in first. We were going to Wycombe up the M40 when the lead car, the 2000, called us alongside to say that he was flat out and needed a push up the hill.
We dropped in behind him, closed the gap and were giving him a gentle push when there was a clunk. The angle of the lower half of the 2500 S chrome front bumper had ridden over the top of the tow ball of the 2000 and we were stuck. We both had to ease over to the hard shoulder in tandem so that we could stop and bounce it back off. Ah, the things we did in our youth and got away with. Total madness when I think about it now.  :-[
