I think that it all means that we will have a General Election sooner than 2029.  :)

Looks like the Labour MP for Makerfield Josh Simons (Maj 5399) has agreed to resign so Burnham can stand in a by-election.

It would be absolutely hilarious if he loses especially to the Reform candidate.  ;D

I'm really not sure why many Labour MP's see Burnham as the new messiah. He is affable enough but an old school socialist at heart. His politics are closer to Corbyn than Starmer or Streeting.

Even if he wins the seat, and replaces Mr Wooden  as PM, I very much doubt he would be popular enough to win a general election.

They are all middle class 'progressive' champagne socialists who have mostly worked in the public sector, for charities, as MP's researchers/assistants, as SPADS, in the legal profession, etc etc  Not so many ex dockers, steelworkers, lorry drivers etc or even union reps these days.   :-\

They probably see Burnham as the man to open the spending taps and don't even consider the consequences!  ::)

So, will we have PM Streeting, PM Rayner, PM Milibrain...........or some other random Socialist moron ?
Cant see that it matters too much. Each of them will just bring a slightly different version of chaos.
I would imagine Rachel from complaints will be out of a job vey soon though
You say that...

The last two Labour Chancellors were both equally shit at basic maths and they're both still around. Unfortunately.

And we're still paying the price for both :-X

He has more chance of losing to Reform and becoming unemployed than I have of winning last week's Euromillions.

Smug shouty arse needs a slap back into reality.

Hopefully, in his parliamentary address tomorrow, Charlie surprises everyone by sacking them all for being, as Kemi so delicately put it, totally f****** useless...

Fast moving self-inflicted trauma...

It looks as though 'Fleeting Streeting' is already yesterday's pizza.

Looks like Ed Millibland has made himself totally unelectable, not that he really ever was...

Apparently he has publicly stated that all North Sea energy production should be stopped.

Looks like he is as retarded as he is odious

He is that, but that wouldnt stop him being elected leader of the Labour party and thus becoming our next PM.
Every possible candidate is totally unsuited for the role, but one of them will get it.  :(

I can't see any current MP being suitable for PM if I'm honest....

I think Starmer will see them all off.  ???

I'm not convinced that Burnham can win this by-election, and if he loses his humiliation will be well deserved.

HMRC letting the Ginger Growler off is just too convenient and it looks like Streeting has bottled it, unless he's keeping his powder dry while he see what transpires in the by-election.

From the leftfield theres rumours that Al Cairns, the Armed Forces minister might have ago, but he has only been in Parliament since 2024. So....  :-\
