I remember this (or one identical to it) that I used to pass through going to KPMG's Watford training centre. It was tight (I had about 2" of space either side of the X-type's wing mirrors) but easily manageable, I do despair at people.   

We briefly owned an X-Type Mondeo in 3 litre V6 all wheel drive flavour.

Quite possibly the worst car ever.

Rather have that than the 2nd car I ever owned  - Chrysler Alpine 1.4 twin Webers struggled to get to 95mph was useless run by the company's accountant, I dont think he ever did more than 40 mph in it - had 14k on clock when I bought it.

Never heard of 'em, had a quick google - they look like everything that's wrong with 70's cars in one depressingly brown package.

According to HowManyLeft (not perfect but an interesting indication), 8 examples on the road in the UK last year.

But you haven't truly experienced a Chrysler Alpine until you've heard the tappets rattling.

They’re actually fixed bollards set in the pavement,    with a dropped kerb that rises just as you enter the first two bollards. It’s this rising kerb that adds to the visual dramatics of accidents, and allows drivers of wider vehicles the chance to hit the rising kerb at speed and attempt to go through on two wheels.

I still hanker after a MK1 3000E Capri.

Yellow with a BVR. Bit of a 'bird puller' back in it's day.

Worth a pretty penny these days, I'll wager.

Yep.....but when you are too young to drive none of this seems to matter.

Decades later I owned a MK1 1600XL (white with a BVR)

It was already well past the time it should have been 'cubed' and turned into tins of beanz.

Drove like a lorry, and she finally met her demise when the cambelt let go......although it didn't take the engine with it.
