Luxury. I had to lean out of the window while my Dad was driving his Minor, using a fairy liquid bottle to squirt water on the windscreen.

Try telling that to the yoof of today…

Would you buy one if you were in the market to buy a brand new car though?  ???   :-\

Brand new? No. Depreciation is horrfic.

£10-20k second hand? Also no, any motor/battery failure is main dealer so $$$$$

I'd probably do what Albs(?) did and get a cheapo couple of grand Nissan Leaf, so nothing that much to go wrong or big cost if it goes dead.

The work salary scheme makes it a no brainer for me.

Yep...all milk floats seem to suffer from horrendous initial depreciation.....but this can prove to be our friend a year or two down the line, or even with pre-registered cars with delivery mileage.

AI google search suggests £28000-£30000 for a good usable example, with the best cars reaching £70000+ at auction. :o :o :o

Cost me £1030.00 back then £206 deposit & £31.40 over 36 months took my 3.3 PB Vauxhall Velox in part exchange, first HP loan I ever had.

Another quality plastic product ;D
Very possibly. Although about 6 weeks ago an accident repair centre had all the front off, so I give it even money they didn't put it back together properly and somethings either come loose or they stressed a component on reassembly that's now failed.

We shall see.

Any travel sickness from the little T”s. A possible EV by product?

Not sure the traction mechanism would cause travel sickness.  Dad had a Citroen DS Safari when I was a nipper, that did induce vomit for all back seat passengers!

The age thing there is interesting. Maybe explains why we as kids used to throw up. Mind you floating freely in the back of a windowless van floor wouldn’t have helped !

Suspect its unrelated to the traction, and these people have an underlying condition already.  Or the drivers are fully exploring the acceleration capabilities....

FWIW I think the EV gives more instant acceleration than the majority of ICE cars, and fewer audible cues that that acceleration is going to happen, so I could see it being more disorientating for passengers. Otherwise I'm not sure what difference it would make.

In Citroen, that was more likely to be sea sickness than car sickness.  ::)   ;D

My dad and his friend used to rally escorts in the early 70's. They used to buy ex police cars and do the engine swaps as the shells were all to Mexico spec (Type 49 - more spot welds per inch, along with some other changes like additional bracing, if anyone cares). At some point towards the end of the 70's he was offered the by then rather tatty first ever Mexico RHD car off the production line. He didn't buy it as he needed the money to put into his new Hillman Avenger rally car 8).

He still finds this decision somewhat difficult to talk about  ;D
