Aside from the fantasy market placing, the actual car is a curious mix of really boring and really stupid/ugly features.
I think its marginally prettier than the concept car, but thats not hard really.

Maybe it will grow on us, but then the ugly ass of my Jaaaaaggg never grew on me, and I've had it 9.5yrs

It's not the looks that let the XJ down. I see it as an elegant large saloon with real style.......even with the black woman arse element. >:D

Your problem is the derv lump under the bonnet that requires the 'spawn of Satan' to make it run

Chop it in for an XJ 575.... 8) :y

Given my mileage has dropped to 3 parts of sod all now, that thought had crossed my mind.

But my sensible head says its quick enough*, and already fully depreciated.  Not sure I could bring myself to spend £30k on something with an arse as ugly either.....

*Being a reformed character, 0-100kph in a 6s and a limited speed of 155mph seems adequate.

Our roads are too congested to do the 0-62 dash very often, and 155mph will lose you your licence.

You can probably get a petrol version of yours for about £4k. Whether it would be a good idea or not isn't much of a question, but spending £30k on a used Jaaag is lunacy.

Dream on. You can't even get the soot chucker for that.

I'm not so sure about the virginity bit. Some of those meets were pretty boozy by all accounts.

I'd be disappointed if Daz hadn't been there  ;D

………..

From the photos taken from forward of either front side or a side view, I thinks it looks ok. It looks no better or worse than any other vehicle. I’ve seen a few AI versions of this, where they’ve added a rear screen and some proper rear tail lights and it looks so much better. One of the AI versions was even badged as the new Range Rover GT.  ::)

I know what you mean, it’s so nice not having to worry about camera vans etc. A nice leisurely drive without being intimidated by someone sat on your rear bumper, or letting temper get the better of you, encouraging you to drive irrationally. What an absolute pleasure it is to drive within the speed limit, with speed camera app chirping away unnecessarily in the background.  :y No more traffic lights Grand Prix, no more caring whether someone pushes in at the merge in turn, just a chilled drive out.  ;)

Having watched a journo getting into the back of one, to me the packaging is its biggest let down.

The fact that you have a car that big, with all the packaging freedom that an EV platform provides but you can't fit two 6 footers comfortably one behind the other is exceptionally poor. The BMW 6 series Gran Coupe is an ice car with GT proportions, designed more than a decade ago, smaller in every dimension than the Jag but offering much better rear space.

I haven't seen a Tunnie family photo, but assuming the Tunn'lets all have the usual compliment of two legs each, I can't see it working out - salary sacrifice or no  ;D.

This on the other hand, would do nicely!

Who needs an app for camera vans when they are reformed.

Sounds like you remain in denial, Mr YZ ;D

My £500 Volvo banger, was just like that before my BMW was delivered. 1.6 S40, dog slow, barely wanted to do above 70. Did not really want to be revved, but very comfy. Just sit back and it was always fun having a "tactical" win on the commute, beating a car that was racing along/darting between lanes, because you made the right lane choice and beat him on thinking rather than power.  ;D
