Ah, that one is missing a supercharger and an awful lot of horsepower.  Without checking, I think they are only about 400bhp.  Hence Opti suggesting the XJR575 run-out model :y

But more importantly, for that era, as they all have leather, you have to go Portfolio spec to get ventilated seats.  If I have to suffer leather, it must be ventilated.  Been there, done shitty standard leather in the Omegas ;D

380BHP, and not much faster on the dash to yours. 25mpg is a wee bit thirsty, too.

I picked up some 3 metre lengths of 4”x2” yesterday and loaded it through the boot and between the two front seats right up to the dash. I closed the tailgate and when I got in, the look of the timber running all the way through the centre of my car was strangely reminiscent of how it would feel to be in the new Type 01 Jaguar.  :y ;D

I appreciate that fuel has gone through the roof lately so EV’s charged at home have the upper hand financially for local’ish runs. They also have the upper hand on a longer run if you are prepared to plan in charging breaks. I’d imagine that it’s not quite so easy for families with toddlers if you’ve got to entertain them for the random 30-60 minutes charging breaks.  :-\
Although it obviously cost me more than it would have cost you, but I drove to Gretna in one hit, drove about for a couple of days and then drove back home again in one hit on the same tank of fuel. This is what I like about ICE cars, I didn’t have to plan in any charging breaks, and I didn’t have to ask anyone how long they’d be charging their car for in the limited amount of hotel charging bays. I also appreciate that some will argue that you can pop in for a coffee and a wee whilst it’s charging at the services/supermarket etc., and it’s charged by the time you leave, but I don’t drink coffee and any stops are flying visits just for a piss. I’m not ready yet to accept searching for working chargers to become part of my holiday.  :-\

Easy for you to say from where you're sat.

Factor in the purchase price, and depreciation and time spent charging Vs refuelling I have no qualms about paying £1.65 a litre for petrol in either of my cars that combined including tax and insurance cost less than a deposit on your golf cart regardless of how quick or shiny it is.

I hope you don't get made redundant just before Christmas, but if it happens, you'll be back to a 15/20 year old car before the Turkey is finished because the BMW will be the first thing they will take off you.

I've done a run to Wales, it's required a 'splash and dash' of 10 mins to just wack in maybe 10/15% of battery.

That is enough to do home to Wales and back again.

Kids have been fine with a quick pit stop. But for 99% of my journeys I use ~40% of it's charge per day.

I’ll admit that for most of my journeys, an EV would be sufficient for daily use, and would certainly be cheaper to run, brushing aside the purchase price of course.  :y  I just know that on the longer runs it would piss me off. :-\  Horses for courses I guess.  :y
