Get DG started on anything old Merc related and he's in Merc heaven. >:D
I quite like old Mercs.  But anything from around 1990 onwards is a bit shit really.
.

Best one I had was a 1992 190e the build quality was excellent & I really should have kept it bought on eBay from a doctor in Edinburgh who'd owned it from new & sold on eBay to an enthusiast in Surrey about 4 years later, last time I looked it was still on the road.

Didn't you have a low mileage E430 with a thumping V8.....or am I thinking of somebody else? ???

A 15 year old car, with 4,800 miles on it, for £55,000? Bargain.

Yes you're absolutely right it was a year 2000 on a V plate bought it to replace the 2.6 Omega, it was okay but in all honesty I preferred the Omega , I sold it back to the Merc specialist I bought it from after a couple of years, then moved onto the Range Rover Sport.

That's what I replaced the TDV8,  with didn't have it for long though SWMBO was taken ill  so it just was sitting in the garage sold it back to Full Fat dealer, never got round to towing with it  beautiful thing to drive though, probably down to 14-15 mpg towing  so will probably go back to diesel TDV8 20-22 towing. Unfortunately Full Fat had moved my TDV8 on otherwise I'd have bought it back, absolutely nothing wrong with it ,as the saying goes " bought in haste repent in leisure" cost me a fair few quid , lesson learnt.

If it's a W163 ML500, it will have M113 engine, they're pretty bombproof…….

Many moons ago, the old me was sat at traffic lights in my 3.2 when a ML55 AMG pulled up alongside me. I’d never heard of one so didn’t give it more than a fleeting glance. As the lights changed I gunned it, and was genuinely shocked at how quick this thing shaped like a brick took off, it was much quicker than me.  :o  No matter, I thought, I’ll reel him him farther up the scale, but that didn’t happen, as I had to turn off way before the slim likelihood of it even being possible. It’s fair to say that I’d seriously underestimated its power.  :-[

If you're happy with diesel, there's plenty of choice...

This V8 is basically the ML63 AMG but with the V8 diesel.

Looks like something that some all tits and teeth, heavily fake tanned type bint would pick the sprogs up from school with!  ;D
Just right for the geezer about town too then >:D

Joking aside, that's about as fully loaded as a W164 ML can be... Without looking, well over £10k in options.

I think that's the same one I saw a few weeks ago on a car auction on YouTube,  there was a walk around video & the reserve wasn't anywhere near that amount. Good luck to anyone daft enough to pay that for it.

On second thoughts, with all that extra weight it would probably sink up the axles the moment you took it off piste, so not much good for apocalyptic caravanning really!  ::)  ;D
