Seems to me that as your contract is with Beyond Television it is down to THEM to provide a merchantable, working, TV system. What happens between them and Samsung is just that ...... between them and Samsung. Not your problem.
It becomes my problem when they say that Samsung will just keep attempting repairs until the warranty runs out...

As he says, but............once a repair is accepted by the consumer it is extremely difficult to get a replacement product. You have to rely on the goodwill of the company.

Given up with trying to get the tele to work now, dragged the little LCD from kitchen in, and watching DVDs....

That's probably better quality 'television' anyway, as you just know Saturday night's showing are usually just crxp. ;D ;)
true.  but i normally find something on the nazi channel, or one of the other ones.

If this is going to be semi permenent, I'll have to plug the mce in to the little grundig...

God!  You are in a mood TB!! :o :o ;D ;D ;D ;)

You are not getting some ideas on how to deal with the TV dealer and manufacturer are you? :D :D ;)  Piano wire was one of their favourite devices! ::) ::) ::) ::)
Opps, sorry, I meant UK History  :-[ - every time I flick it on, its always about the Nazis, hence its called the Nazi channel in the TB household....

Now that's quite a relief to know....I thought you had really turned nasty (not that you ever are!!!!) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

Apparently not according to Trading Standards - accepting a repair in no way harms your rights.  In fact they suggested I should accept first repair anyway...

Indeed as I stated earlier if you have properly recorded your reluctance to accept all the repairs to date, and have given the supplier / manufacture 'reasonable' time to rectify, your rights remain unaffected to obtain a new replacement set as the old one was never of merchantile quality. ;)

Technically you haven't accepted a repair -- as they haven't provided one!

I fail to see how they can wash their hands of it when the warranty runs out. Fault first occurred under warranty and they are yet to satisfactorily resolve it.

I would go to trading standards, threaten to publicise your issues and also talk to your credit card company if you used that to pay for it. Maybe they can apply some pressure.

I understand why they have struggled to fix, as it is a pesky intermittent bugger, normally only apparent if I've been away a few days.

Today is a new thing, as haven't been able to use all day.

Problem is, though I need to double check, I think I may have cancelled the c/card it was bought on, which makes life difficult...

Phone up the people you bought it from and tell them you have spoken to trading standards and Watchdog.  Tell them you have kept a diary of events with dates and names.

Then add that your Solicitor has suggested that you give the Seller 24 hours to sort Samsung out for a full replacment, casually mentioning that a 12 month warrany is nearly up and will be claiming extra warranty period for all the days that is was under report/repair time (trick I learnt from That's life (Ezter Rantzen) Years ago) If you then dont get satifaction then you allow Watchdog to interview you and add to thier caseload regards thier company.
