Don't know where she gets the daft idea of £500 from?

She paid £400 for it, and I suspect it has not even had an oil change since she took ownership!

It is a fun car though!  ;D

Well,I reckon you could bin the Dual Ram system in favour of a rack of bike carbs!!

Oh! What's that? I just happen to have a 24v straight six engine and good auto gearbox lying in my garage!! Wouldn't take much to persuade me to part with them either!! The engine's got new guides on it but is un-run.

I had my last Senator tuned up to 230 BHP without too much trouble.

Interested?  :y

However, if I had my choice, I'd be sticking a huffing great big GM drived V8 in the space!!  8-)

No, the one in the Omega (first pic) is the Northstar engine which is a dual overhead cam based power plant with 32 valves (note that the unit is wider as a result):

http://www.gm.com/automotive/gmpowertrain/engines/northstar/index.htm

The second one in the Monaro/Holden is the LS1/2 (depending on year) single cam with 16 valves.

Mmmmm! Northstar!

Just saying it sounds great!!

That's the Caddy engine they used for racing isn't it?

Yeah, knew about the Monaro one, just didn't know if they were the same engine under the plastics.

Interesting. :)

I know little about these engines though  :-[

What is the tuning potential of these units relative to the LS1/2?
