i have an 18 litre at home and its not man enough...

Sounds to me like the impact wrench is not up to it. The reservoir size determines how long you can use a tool for, not how much power you will get out of it.

I much prefer to be able to feel what's happening when I'm using a wrench so I wouldn't use an impact wrench unless it's to loosen something that's siezed.

Yes, i agree. Personally dont have a problem undoing with impact wrench if i know i did them up correctly myself though. When i first got the car we had a very good feel of i splitting socket and a jarred back through a breaker bar on a nut that must have been over 200nm tight, because the impact wrench was not up to it. Yes i know, should have used an impact socket.
Anyway...
Could well be the gun, it is not the best, but different gun on my mates 36 litre? So maybe the pump motor needs more welly as said?

The aldi compressor is actually made by wolf tools you can buy the same model off their web site or advertised in some magazines i think it's probably the best value for money, 2.5hp motor, 25 ltr tank twin outlets about 8cfm wife bought me a wolf version for christmas its done every thing I,ve wanted it to including impact sockets, and is still portable enough unlike the 50ltr units. :y

I've got the Aldi special and it's coped with, wheel nuts, spring, shock, exhaust and wishbone swaps without issue as well as blowing tyres up and general dusting duties.
Good bit of kit for the price.

Just been out in the garage and noticed a price ticket on my Tiger 8/44. £69.98+VAT!

Machine Mart have hiked their prices a bit.

Problem I found with the Aldi/Netto/Lidl etc ones is the quality of the connectors is piss poor, and don't last. That and the fact they, like halfords, use the euroconnector, and not the more common (in this country) pcl connector.

Machine Mart will do a filter regulator Martin.
Without looking I would expect they will sell the euro fittings to go with it which screw in with a bit of ptfe tape to seal the threads.
If getting the fitting is an issue, remove one of the euro females from the compressor and replace with a pcl female. Pcl male from there to the filter reg and screw the old euro female into the outlet of the filter reg so you can use your existing hoses.

Thanks John - I'll have a look next time my daughter has a Saturday event at school (it is opposite Machine Mart)
