RTA on way to work (not me this time)

Almost a year to the day from my last accident I came across a car on my side of road smashed front and wheel hanging off, I think it had skidded and hit the hedge.

And was about 1/4 mile from my accident and 100m from where I had had a bump about 5 years ago.

I saw the "aftermath" of two accidents yesterday & didn't even travel a mile!

Seen an odd one on the M2 last night, a huge lorry standing in the middle lane, and a small car attached to it's right-hand side... facing backwards into oncoming traffic.

It was foggy, dark, and wet, and the police hadn't arrived yet, so quite dangerous situation really. I am speculating that the lorry was a continental LHD, and the driver changed lane without seeing the small car (Fiesta-size) on his right-hand side so gave it a nudge and the little fellow span around in the wet.

On the plus side, the occupants were standing on the hard shoulder waiting for the police so no one seems to have been hurt.

Weirdest one i ever saw was traveling to Cornwall in the dark very early one morning through a contraflow, when ahead of me  on the correct carridgeway i could see a pair of red light quite high off of the ground.  As i passed it all was reveiled as a transit rocking gently on the top of a 6 foot pile of chippings with two blokes stood by scratching their heads  ;D

today -thick fog, visibility 20ft and still 10% of drivers with no lights on. with 150 miles to do in a day whats the probability i meet one of these idiots doing something stupid !!

Sat on M6 for an hour last night yet again, this time due to lorry fire at junction 6, then just after junction 5 a Punto decided to have a blow out right in front of me :(

The fog was bad on the way home - I was following a car which gave up and let me pass - I went nearly 10 mph faster and didn't hit anything. Under 20 to around 30!!!!

I can't drive in fog on a known road below 20 I need to do 30 or so - then I KNOW exactly where the road goes and can concentrate on other vehicles ect.

Oh and I have used this technique for years - works brilliantly on my commute or other well know roads.

The car originally in fornt was jerking and panic braking because they didn't know where they were.

And to ease the worries I could stop in time as well - lights & reflectors work
