It puzzles me as to why a car like this has been left to almost certain council crushing come the end of the month.

Very strange.  :-?
Thats 'cos I bet the owner doesn't even know its there!!

Not "lost or stolen" according to the police.

Might be soon ;D

The police would no doubt have also checked with the registered keeper as they did with the Renault in my example. 8-)

Outside my friends house three years ago a Renault Lagonda was 'abondoned' outside for about five months, with no one in the road knowing the owner, the DVLA showing no interest, and the Police taking no action as it was not stolen and had a valid tax disc.

The tax disc eventually ran out, and big yellow notices were posted on the car warning of removal by DVLA authorities within seven days as it was untaxed.  Within two days a car turned up, a man jumped out and unlocked the car, removed all the stickers, cleaned the filthy windows and just drove off!! :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

Work that one out!! ::) ::) ::) ::)

Well if it was a LAGONDA I would claim it  ;D

Yes, ok I got the name wrong clever glogs.........as I know you know I meant the Renault name that is similair!!! ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

Whatever, the Renault was only three years old
! :D ;)
Lizzie is having one of her "senior moments".....comes to us all in the end ;D ;D ;D :y

Nickbat appears to have a knack for spotting cars that nobody appears to need any more. ;) Did anything ever come of that ex-plod (3.2 manual IIRC) that was parked up your road when we did your cam belt?

In fact, wasn't it on the same street corner? Looks familar... :-/

This Merc appears to have been abandoned. It has not moved for the last 6-8 weeks, has two flats on the front and is not parked outside any house. It is taxed to end-Oct 08, however. The local plod say they have no interest. It is an E220 CDI on a Y plate with leather interior.

It puzzles me as to why a car like this has been left to almost certain council crushing come the end of the month.

Very strange.  :-?

If u pm me location i'll arrange collection :y

Not far from there, Kevin - just about 300 yards away in fact. No, the ex-plod Omega estate disappeared. Mind you, it had only been there untaxed for about a week. This taxed Merc's been there at least since the beginning of the school year (first noticed it when I took my daughter to school after the summer hols).

Tried Googling about acquiring title to abandoned cars, but can't find anything yet.  :(

Well, the Laguna had worn it's cloggs well and truly out by 3 years old. I'm surprised it wasn't a pile of rust held together with those tickets.

 ;D ;D :y :) :) :o :o :o :D

Regan did and Bush does this well, and the other day Barack Obama managed to say he had visited almost all the States of America......47....and he still had one to go!!!!!!! :o :o :o :o ;D ;D ;D ;)
