Are they really black?
« on: 06 November 2008, 14:12:42 »

We are told that Lewis Hamilton is the first black F1 champion ...and that Barack Obama is soon to become the first black President of The United States of America.

Would it be equally accurate for me to say that Obama will soon become the 44th white President....or that Lewis hamilton is simply another white F1 world champion.?

After all...Hamilton has a black father and a white mother...he is 50% white.....Obama has a white Mother and a black father.....so he is 50% white also. ....But they are simply refered to as black men who have achieved great heights.

Could this be considered offensive to some white people.?

I'am very pleased that Obama is to become the next President ....I think he may well do great things .He is an articulate and erudite man and I wish him well.

But I would prefer to say that both Lewis Hamilton  and Barack Obama are of mixed race......this gives equal status to both the black and white human race. :y :y :y

Barack Obama has made great play since securing the Presidency that he is "post racial", implying that his or the colour of anyone else in the United States of America does no longer matter.  We are all one!! 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

That is exactly how it should be across not only America but across God's World! :y :y :y

The Louden Tavern?

Well it features on that Sky 1 show " Britains Hardest Pubs"

Its in the smelly part of Glasgow, the East end and close to Celtics place. And its a Rangers Pub. And its gor a siege mentality.

It like the end of the Film "Zulu" with Michael Caine on match days ;D

Hopefully that is the blue of the old Caledonian Railway which became part of the LMS (London Midland & Scottish Railway) on the 1st January 1923.  If so that is a real advance!! ;D ;D ;D :y :y
