ebay should be banned!!!!
« on: 30 October 2008, 19:33:07 »

right as i need it gone i sold my miggy on ebay for £150  :'( (to be honest i thought it would go for the £200 i advertised it on here for!!.... the buyer is in Ireland .... fair enough (but a bit strange) i thought , before the auction ended  they asked if they could get a lorry driver to uplift the car and give me the cash ( a bit strange) but ok.
They then said it would be collected by tuesday and the lorry driver would ring.
I sent a message back 2 1/2 hours before the end of the auction to say "no i need it gone by Sunday and if you cant then dont bid" they still bid last minute.
Then the cheeky swines sent a message today " we have paid the lorry driver and it will be collected by tuesday" !
I rang them and was very polite (considering) and told them the car was being re-listed and they were taking the michael.
Next thing i have negative feedback saying they never got any message!!!!!!!!!!!
I look on ebay and i cant have the feedback removed...... BUT if i leave them positive feedback with negative comments then that will be removed and i can even be suspended for doing so ??? WTF!!
The tree hugging politically correct brigade seem to have even infiltrated ebay !!!!! (thay are in the wrong and our 100 percent feedback is ruined!!!
and ebay say something along the lines of "they dont take sides in feedback disputes!!!" >:( >:(
Wucking Fankers!!!!!!!!
Sorry rant over!!!!
Almost!!!!!!
Ok it is now!!!!!!!
Ps if anyone wants it and can collect sat or sunday lets know!

Yeh, i don't agree with the way ebay has defined the feedback as of late, in one way it's a good thing. because it helps prevent boguss sellers, though in your case, it does seem unfair. IIRC feedback is permanent is it not :-/

Not necessarily PC, but run for Ebay's advantage to the detriment of everyone else. Only option is not to use them unfortunately. :(

can you still reply to feedback comments? if so, reply, telling them car could not be picked up by stated date so relisted, buyer told before aution end

unless you didnt mention that in the listing?

when you relist, explain in the advert that the previous buyer did not adhere to your terms

Something very very similiar happened to me.  Told ebayer to not bid on a part he was frantic for as not suitable for his car, he then made an offer, I accepted thinking it was from someone else who had just made an enquiry as to what I would accept for the part.  But the offer was made by the ever so slightly odd ebayer who'd been sending me message after message begging me to sell him the item, in spite of at least three explanations as to why it wouldn't work on his car.

I returned the money immediately.  Phoned ebay, they didn't tell me I had done ANYTHING wrong.  Mad-ebayer made a complaint and I got a non selling seller warning lol.  Tried to point out that a person only places things on ebay to sell them.., so must have had good reason to return this guy's money.  Spent hours copying messages to them to prove I'd said no this part won't work on your car and his replies. Over a month later, still waiting for a response from Ebay.

egay is now more for the buyer than the seller. the annoyoing thimg is there is nothing stopping you buying something, wait for it to be delivered then open a dispute and claim your money back thru paypal saying the item never arived. nothing seller can do about it.

Can you not start a new account?

No matter what you do there is always some idiot around to give you negative feedback.

Ebay don't seem to want to get involved in any disputes , presumably because it would cost too much to employ the staff to handle them all.

All they seem to be interested in is raking off their commision/listing fees , and letting the system police itself through the feedback system.

I think it is  backfiring on them because at the moment it's working in favour of the scammer/dickhead and against the honest user.

Sure I read somewhere that they weren't doing too well financially . I wonder why.

Yes Pete it is permanent but i am annoyed i can only leave positive feedback as a seller !

Yes Kevin you are right i think this is the last car i will sell via their over-priced, over-rated service.

Danny i have done just that, apparently if they complain though ebay can remove my feedback and suspend me???. i have added it to my ad - but as a response to a question i received - just encase ebay removed the ad for  libel or deffamation (sp) of character lol

swmnbo - sounds like you got a complete fruit and nut case  :o
Good luck with the " we will take your seller fees but not help you unless you are a buyer " tw** that is ebay/egay/fleabay and probably many other names that the swear filter would remove ;D

I think a lot of sellers wish there was an alternative.  There are in the US, but I looked at the UK equivalents and there just isn't the potential there yet in these alternative sites for those in the car business.  I do tend to try and keep some stuff off ebay and will only sell to UK buyers now (always seem to have problems with non UK buyers).  Every single transaction went down the tubes losing me money.
