2.2 DTi - how economical
« on: 15 November 2008, 16:04:19 »

I know we have a few DTi owners - how economical are these engines, and - what is the performance like?

I got blasted away by a 2.2 DTi Veccy once, while in my 2.5 Facelift, so I imagine not too bad?  ::)

Economies around the 36 on urban type of drive, though on a steady motorway run with the cruise, she'll hit up to 50. I took my mate down to Guilford a few months back & i was doing 80-90 most of the way & she still return 44mpg :y
The perfomance isn't bad, though she aint now rocket. I can easily leave the 2.2 petrol once rolling with the extra torque.
The Vectra is i would say a lighter car & the 2.2 diesel has the edge over the Mig

I have had two 2.2dti's and I got an average of 44MPG.  They are not the most powerful of engine, but I had my first car remapped which gave a nice little performance boost.  As soon as I get a problem sorted with my current car, I will be getting it remapped again.
