We're talking about MP3 players, not the Hubble space telescope!  Yes, others can be as good or better, but iPods are good, the service is good, and you know what you are getting.  There's a reason that they are the market leaders.  If you want to do endless research and you are very finicky then an iPod is not for you.  If you want to walk into a store and walk back out with a nifty MP3 player then you will probably buy an iPod.

Not at the price they are, my daughter is only 8 and will want more that one small parcel off Santa. Only research was in Asda today and she sotted an mp3 player in pink that she liked. After all she has a phone and that can be used to play music, the novelty will wear off quickly.
