Once again the bandwagon is overcrowded with the ever increasing number of holier than thou know it alls some at least hav'nt read Platforms post properly before all standing behind eachother & spouting off. Platform made it perfectly clear that the road he was on was clear ahead, no horses, tractors, 3rd parties etc. Either you did'nt read or disregarded that to get a cheap shot in. Whilst i agree 140mph is excessive & illegal. Some of us have competion driving experience on varying scales, most of you are motorists so what would you know? Many of you have posted your driving antics yourselves, me too.
   Lastly discretion dictates i cannot name names but i've been driven at similar speeds & conditions & felt quite safe. If i could divulge it would shut you all up but, sorry, i can't much as i'd like to but not my place to do so. I don't want to lose any friends i've made here but i can't stand what i see as bullying. as an 8 yr old kid i took a kicking off a 10 yr old 'cos he was beating up a 6 yr old but the 6 yr old got away, that's how i am, can't help defending some one i feel is being picked on. No i don't know the stetch of road in question but he tried to explain several times which fell on deaf ears.

No one is being holier than thou mate but can you defend someone who has openly stated he was doing 140mph on a public country lane..............

And so what there was 'nothing coming'.....all it takes is someone to pull out or cross the road without seeing an idiot travelling at warp factor down a lane.....

One day this guy will have a BIG BIG accident and I hope its only himself that gets injured or worse as a result of his stupidity.

I dont see a problem with travilling at any particular speed IF the conditions and skill level etc; allow. not talking about the legal situation just the fact that if a road is long/straight/empty/dry enough then we shouldnt be hanging people for it.
He didnt mention anything about a country "lane". As an example,if anyone knows the road outside Sudbury going towards Bury st. Edmunds there is a section which is straight as an arrow and over half a mile long which could possibly be classed as a country road (fields either side etc,) where speeds such as this could be achieved,say early on a summers sunday morning.

right guys lets chill a bit on this one !! i have been silly speeds in my own car and in other peoples and on bikes much faster than 140mph ! we all have done silly things in our time so lets just leave it  

as for the car give it a miss mate my mate has a 98 535 v8 and it costs stupid amounts for silly things like his climate fan stopped working £180 just for the parts !!!!

some members one after another start to give lessons to drive slow..

and I am sure nobody here is miss Daisy..I remember many threads

debating their cars upper limit here..

and if 2-3-4 persons tell the same one after another its enough..and Enough is enough..

have you ever seen somebody drive slow because you tell slow..

And style is sometimes more important than what you say

actually..

Now look where the subject reached.. This is an international form

and I dont think whats written here is nice..
