Have you been burning stuff too? We had a similar problem which co-incided with the standard of Mrs. KWs cooking not being up to its' usual exemplary level.  :'(

Turned out the nasty capillary thermostat had got a bit lazy. Set the oven to 200 C and it was actually reaching almost 300. :o New thermostat in the oven and it was fine.. Howver I think the replacement has packed up now too. >:(

Quite often there'll be more than one element doing the heating, depending on the mode selected, so could be you've had a single element fail. If it's slow on "fan assisted" mode can you try it in "conventional" mode?

I got a nice multimeter from Maplin with a thermocouple which is ideal for oven diagnostics.  8-)

I'm thinking replace the element, only £20.
Its quicker to go for a takeout ;)
