Hiya chaps and chapesses

Would anyone know what could be the problem:-

Astra van diesel, the brake lights are on all the time, when the engine is switched off and the key is removed the egine keeps running. when the brake pedal is pressed the engine stops.
The brake switch is not stuck on.

I have never come across this before, could it be a faulty relay somewhere

Just a thought... When I had my Astravan if I had some item plugged into the ciggie lighter it did something similar... Can't remember what was plugged in though ::) ::) ::)

It's an odd one... Sounds like something is powering up the ignition system in some respects
