Reminds me when I used to run my Pug 406 on chip fat.

I used to go to Lidl, and pile the trolley to the top with their unbranded sunflower oil...  ;D

James, did you need to modify at all? I have a 306 D-Turbo that I have always wanted to try this on, but I am scared to break it.

I did the same with my wife's Rover diesel but only in the summer as the oil thickens in the winter. I've stopped doing it now as the oil is as expensive as diesel.

Slightly off thread, but still on supermarket pricing, I went to Tescos yesterday and decided to stock up on tinnies for the fridge:

On the shelf: Case of Carslberg 440ml x 15. Buy two for £10.
Next to it: Case of Carslberg 440ml x 24. £2 off price around £12.

So 30 cans for a tenner, or 24 for £12.

Fortunately, I've got a GCE in maths, so it only took me a few minutes to establish the better deal!  :P :P ;) ;) ;D ;D

Does anyone remember years and years ago when a chap bought bananas from tesco becuase of the amount of Clubcard points he would get?

By spending £300 on Bananas he got something like £350 worth of vouchers.
