There are a lot of bids for the time to go :-/ If I were a genuine buyer and wanted that car I would have asked for a BIN price, no evidence of that, I think this is a bit iffy :)

I'm not convinced as i know they're rare as hens teeth but it's still gonna be a blast to drive so if anyone's feeling full of charitable festive spirit i would'nt be so rude to refuse it as a gift, whatever it is! 8-)

Does look dodgy as all the bids were put down within an hour of each other  :-/

Nice car, but for that money there is so many other cars I would buy like a Lotus Carlton for instance.

Indeed. Whilst it's lovely it's a bit of a shame it's not fitted with "the other" twin cam (BDA) :-*

I wouldn't expect an old car to be upto todays standards but as far as the MK1 XJ6 goes, there wasn't much around that would touch it for the money ;)

Not a very well presented ad either, inside looks a bit of a sh@t, not even been cleaned, poor pics. If I bid that sort of money for a car it would have to be absolute mint, not even worth half that, looks dodgy to me.

WOW they are big piccys

I'm going to rock the boat here.......What is the attraction with old fords?

ok they had a racing heritage, but then so did a lot of cars in the 50's and 60's and even into the 70's and 80's......you dont see people drooling over a metro, but the 6R4 was a huge success in groupe A and rallycross....

the original advert for the twink 'scrote, is very poor, the seller is relying on its rarity to see itself, no mention of its history of provenance just that its had a rebuild, if i wanted that much money i would be putting together a corker of an auction and i wouldn't do a BIN, the car and a decent auction should create enough of an interest to get the money deserved

MarkDTM, i was under the impression that Jag and AM were based on a similar platform, due to being owned by ford, so in effect you would be buying a Jag XKR or whatever they were called
