I am in Rochdale at the moment - tried to get to a client meeting this morning, with the usual collection of consultants and their collection of mercs, in four inches of snow.

The roads weren't gritted at all, and the mercs slid around on the snow in a hilarious fashion, with their nervous drivers worried about denting their 40 grand cars... Me and the trusty 2 grand mig, in snow mode, climbed an icy slope out of the car park, picked up all the consultants when they abandoned their mercs, and transported them in heated leather seat comfort.
For about three hundred yards down the road, before we got stuck behind a tw%t who refused to admit that spinning the wheels in the middle of the road wasn't getting them anywhere.

We walked to the site in the end. (it was a mile away). Our meeting was called off because the client couldn't make it.  ::)

I love this weather!

what has gone wrong with people. we get 1/4 inch of snow and it causes chaos. .......

About 3" or 4" in Bury this morning. Took me 2 hours to get to Wigan.
It seemed that all the rear wheel drivers were stuck on hills wheels spinning and the women drivers gripping the wheel in despair ....... they were all women  ... honest! in their 3 series coupes & Mercedes and the small CLK's

Our street is still like that. :-? The snow in the road though has been compacted  and is like sheet ice.

Several inches of fresh 'snowfall over ice' here today; Deb`s Miggy (wearing it`s snow-chains) even managed to pull a Sharan MPV out of where it had embedded itself (in a snow-bank) this morning....who `said Omega`s are no-good on snow? ;D

Boring, absolutely nothing over in Belfast. Mind you the plane last Friday had to do a couple of touch 'n goes at Leeds cause of the mist.

Its interesting driving over here, there isn't the killer instinct. People actually stop at yellow box junctions and let people in. There's a lot of mercs, audi's, expensive cars, haven't seen many Miggy's.

I think the weather forecast for N.I (Norn-Iron) is more 'interesting' for Wednesday night/early Thursday, Ken!.....a "significant snow event" the Met.Office call it! ;)
Keep warm and drive safe! :y

Not seen any snow at all here in Suffolk :y :y

It'll probably snow heavily next Tuesday as we're off to France for the day. Last time I went at this time of year it was snowing in France as the Brother-in-Law and I were discussing wet weather rules for speeds... You didn'tneed the wipers so was it (in theory) dry weather speed limits? ;D ;D
