Anyone tried LED Indicators? Load Resistor Needed?
« on: 08 December 2008, 10:38:00 »

I did want to replace all my bulbs with LED's but as you need to wire in a load resistor for each bulb to stop the bulb out dash warning I decided against it for now, but thought about just replacing the indicators for now.

Does the bulb out warning work on the indicators or is it just headlight, tail light & brake light?

Do you think the indicators will still need load resistors to stop them flashing quickly

Cheers

The indicators will need load resistors to stop them fast flashing  :y

Its a shame they can't make them with a built in load resistor!!  :'(

But then they would consume more current...

I have a set of these in mine.
Halfords clicky
Have to say I am impressed. Bright, a better match to the colour of the HIDs and no MID warnings.

They do have a polarity - the blue resistor in the bulb goes the same side as the blue feed wire to the plug.  :y

I have these (or very similar ones) myself as side lights but as these don't flash or apply to the bulb out dash warning system they are fine to fit without resistors. I am very impressed with them too.
