Where can you get it in the UK?  I tried Sainsbury's today, but all they had was some Dutch thing called Advocat.  Do I need to get a recipe?

Eggnog is your version of Aadvocat.  I think the Dutch have the original recipe......

Hmmmmm....speaking of advocaat (note the spelling, dimwits) I drank a whole bottle in my teens. When I woke up next morning, my face was stuck to the pillow where I had spewed in the night and it had gone hard. YUK.

Yeesh, sorry, saw it for the first time today.  

Eggnogg is not alcoholic in the US, it is fresh and in the milk section.  I loved it as a kid.  The alcohol can of course be added later . . .

We had it with lemonade.  Remember it being a snowball.

Were only allowed one as well, as I believe Adocaat is brandy based.

Sorry to be a Scrooge, but I imagine the alcohol would boil off among other problems.

Yeah Snowball was the only alcoholic drink my Sister and I were allowed at Christmas.
With a dash of Lime, then lemonade, stir it, then a cherry on the top with a cocktail stick through it...
