Debit Card / Credit Card Scam
« on: 19 December 2008, 21:01:53 »

Speaking to a bobby friend of mine today,

Watch your card when they ask you to enter your PIN, if they haven't entered the amount when you put in your PIN it will be visible on the screen :o :o :o

They can then void the transaction and start again, then they've got your pin :o :o

They can even get around the strange pattern block too, that's when the bank notice a difference in your spending habits, they give £20 to charity on your behalf, the bank see this as it's you being benevolent, yet it's the bastards slipping in a crippler...

Just be aware, as this weekend is expected to be a record high street spending spree for this year and with lots of temporary staff facing the shove after Christmas, it's likely that some of them will be lining their pockets for 2009's uncertainty.. :'(

Use your card to draw cash & spend that, for the reasons you give & i don't like marketing companies to know what breakfast cereal i like.

Not telling you lot either so there!!!!

I hope you did'nt hurt them TOO much whilst restraining them reasonably. Regarding "dippers" my wallet's always in my front pocket. I struggle digging it out so i don't fancy any robbing lowlife's chances, sharp elbow under the nose is effective.

cheers Dave good to know that i will be on the look out for this cheers

another problem i encountered with Chip N Pin is if you pay at a restraunt that use the debit card machine for tips! the machine will ask how much you want to give as a tip! if you have a pin that starts with a 9 like me! then i nearly gave away a 9grand tip lol
