TBH, you should really have sorted that ages ago when it happened. Whilst these lights are on, these important safety features are disabled. Additionally, in the case of a serious accident, if it was found out that these were disabled, I'm not sure where you would stand...

Get it on a Tech2 now (even a cheapo tech2 lead if you have a PC with a COM1 port) and find out why its on.

If the lights are coming on intermittently does this mean that they are still disabled???

When the light comes on the ABC/TC are automatically disabled by the ECU.

When they light is off they are enabled again (whether they will actually work as they should is another matter).

I am not sure that it is illegal to drive this way, or that you would get in trouble with the Police over this in case of a serious accident.

Your insurance company might claim the vehicle was neglected, but only if they can prove that the light has been on for some time and you ignored it.

The point it that the Owners manual says that you can continue driving in this condition though you need to drive carefully and consult a Vauxhall dealer etc – but clearly the manufacturer does NOT consider the car undriveable or unroadworthy without the ABS/TC.

Setting aside the legal issue, it is obviously not very sensible to drive without these crucial safety features even if it is not illegal to do so….

Well it's not getting used atm because of no MOT obviously so am using the wifes astra

I rang vauxhall up they said there were sensors at the front car is not being used atm as no mot

Correct, a sensor for every wheel...  ...fronts are near hub

Maybe worth checking the relays aswell for the abs unit, TheBoy at the time when I went to see him found they had become grimey on the contacts.

I myself cleaned all the road wheel sensors to no avail so maybe worth looking at if the sensor clean up doesn't work.

Fingers crossed and toes crossed as it hasn't come back since.
