with this kind of so called justice no wonder there are vigilantes out there willing to take revenge, This country is well and truely screwed up, if this had been the middle east their heads would no longer be attached.

ill refrain from expressing my true anger, but id like to rip off thier heads and pi$$ on their dead skulls.

Not all Judges are daft ... I work in the courts and they are sometimes amazed at what their "brother judges" do ... but also .. their hands are very much tied by the "Sentencing Guideline Council" ... a QUANGO set up by this illustrious government (  >:( >:( >:( >:( ) that limits what sentences they are allowed to give.

http://www.sentencing-guidelines.gov.uk/

Also, the article does not state if this was a full trial (not guilty plea) or a sentencing hearing following a Guilty plea .. if it was the latter then the sentence is automatically reduced by 1/3 .. due to above guidelines ... so the Judge MAY have actually opted for 14 years .......

http://www.sentencing-guidelines.gov.uk/docs/Reduction%20in%20Sentence-final.pdf

from that article it is not possible to tell ,...

The SGC "book" on Sexual Offences ...

http://www.sentencing-guidelines.gov.uk/docs/0000_SexualOffencesAct1.pdf

Note that the "baseline for Rape is 5 years" ... :(

IIRC in the papers they are called the "cuastic soda - gang or crew or posse!"
Should be tied to the back of my car, dragged around the streets till they are red raw, then put in a bath of salt till they scream loudly then i would drown them!

The lads who did it should also be given a visual reminder every time they look in the mirror of what they did. If I was the girls Dad I'd do everything in my power to make it happen, as I'm sure most other Dads would too.  >:( >:( >:(

Totally agree!!!!!Imagine how you'd feel if it was one of your kids who'd suffered like that. The whole thing makes me sick, from the
f*cking sick bastards that did it, the f*cking sick judge who should lose his job, to the f*cking sick community who "closed ranks" on the investigation. I know you never get the full story in these news reports but how is this kind of sentencing going to help anyone. I'm a firm believer that disciplinary action should be corrective not punitive,
but I also believe that some people are just born evil, in which case get rid!!!These rapists knew what they were doing but I suppose the t*sser of a judge bore in mind their deprived upbringing or some similar pc mitigating factor. Lets not be naive here, attrocities like this have always happened in war when the lines of "acceptable , civilized"
behaviour vanish and human beings get used to that enviroment because it becomes the norm, its a major part of the human "adapt to survive" thing. But this didnt happen in a war zone, it happened in a so called civilized city and if there are no excuses for war crimes, there are certainly no excuses for these actions here.Let the punishment match the crime! My thoughts go out to the poor girl and her family,

Sorry but i disagree....

How would the judge giving them life of helped...all that happens is they loose there freedom, hardly befitting the crime is it.

The problem is us...we vote these namby pamby pencil pushing weak willed governments into power so we as a voting nation are partly too blame.

Maybe one day as a voting public we will collectively grow some balls and actually vote in a government who isnt scared too take a hard line...actually no thats wrong because as soon as a party sways from the middle we hound and publish voters details on the Internet and mock them for having different views.

Bottom line is until we elect a government who is willing too stick two fingers up at Political correctness and has the guts too deal with criminals in a fitting way we will always be reading stories such as the one posted and saying how terrible it is the offenders getting such short easy sentences.

Id happily vote for a party who took a hard line....an eye for an eye attitude.

Sadly true....but just think what this country could be like.... :o

People might just think twice if we introduced a few laws that actually punished people for doing wrong....prison isnt a detreant.

Drugs...Tv...all the bum fun you can handle...better food than my mrs cooks. :-?
