Lakes or York, or both?
« on: 26 January 2009, 09:24:45 »

As we are reliant on members organising various meets, which takes a lot of time and effort to find and arrange a venue capable of taking us all, and the fact we appear to have 2 potential venues for an 'Up North' (well, up north for us southern softies!) meet, I think we need a poll to decide which one(s) should be persued before too much time and effort is expended on arranging them.

Given that our venue for the Lakes meet needs to be revised, perhaps we should ask if there are any alternative plans? If not, why not make the "oop north" meet at York?

I've plumped for York... Seems to be a very convenient site :y :y :y

I'm not sure if I'll actually be able to make it but I hope so :y :y :y

As stated above, we're trying to arrange another East Anglia Meet 4th/5th July if there's enough interest :y :y :y

Not sure if I could make York (will try), but I'd definately be up for the Lakes...

Mind you, if its either or (say York instead of Lakes due to Colditz), then I'd come to which ever it was, but as for both going on, see how I fair...

Just a quick update... I’ve just phoned him and asked about access to the site again like last year, he says were certainly welcome back - I just depends on dates. :D

I asked him about May, and he said that it’s very good for him providing it’s either of the first two weekends. Would these dates be any good? Or do we want it some other time?  :question

Basically all he needs are set dates from us so he can check if it’s available, and then pencil us in!

I’ve told him it will basically be the same as last year, but on a larger scale! And he said that it’s all fine! Cars + Caravans (No hookup Unless you book a private caravan space on the hard standing) + Tents etc all welcome.  :y

Early May it is then. I reckon we should book the hard standing for caravans/hook up as bored kids can watch telly if the weather let's us down, provided we can have some nearby grass as well to pitch gazebos on although we could manage with gennies? :-/

1st weekend in May would be a bank holiday, that would be great :y
OOF children are ganging up on myself and at least 1 other member, at this point, so apparently I would be up for York and or The Lakes. :y
