I've been smoking over 20 years and have wanted to quit for a few years now. Tried the patches/gum/lozenges and nothing worked. They stopped the cravings but not the habitual side of it. Trying again now on the Zyban tablets from the docs. Had to take one a day for 6 days then 2 a day from the 7th and plan a quit day between the 7th and 14th. Last Tuesday was my 9th day on the tablets, got up, lit up but had to put it out as it made me heave! Haven't had one since  :y

I know that if I had just one cig now, even after 7 years of not smoking, I'd be back to square one/20+ a day again!

I tried 2 cigs at school and thats it, never have seen the point in it, I do know how hard it is to stop my Dad had a heart attack back in october thats what made him pack it in. He'd tried everything before that but the heart attack finally made him stop.

Go cold turkey, drink a half bottle of JW Black.

That worked for me, until 10 months later, started back for 2 months, then stopped again.

However, whenever I go outside, cold, slightly breezy, at night.....

I still get the urge. :(

Not touched one for 17 years.. from a 40-a-day habit .. and I still don't call myself a non-smoker ... I'm an ex-smoker ... but I have no wish to smoke and the smell now really annoys me .... hypocrisy I know .. but thats the way it is ...
