Weather warning for the SW
« on: 07 February 2009, 20:19:52 »

Its already like an ice rink outside, hardly any roads have been gritted.....and my Viano has been going sideways when it shouldnt, hence why im home again early  :( Lots of work about but, to me, its not worth taking the risk. And as you may remember its already taken a hit to the front nearside last week in the ice.

Anyway......the warning from the met office......

Last night i got it stuck in a cul-de-sac, i was pointing downhill.....no chance of turning round....so i ended up digging two tracks (atm i have a spade behind my seat) about 1/2 way up the incline.....putting in reverse....turned off the TC and giving it large......i went backwards, probably doing about nearly 20mph by the time it hit the ice/snow......but the momentum was enough to keep me going....and at the last min....spun the wheel to make me spin 90degree to get me facing a downward slope.....not recommended if you have passengers on board with a heart complaint  ::) ;D
