My best car was easily my Cavalier with a redtop conversion. I still regret getting rid of it for the Omega.

My worse was easily my first Nova. It blew 7 head gaskets and went through 3 engines  :-?

best and worst cars?
my best and most reliable cars have been two cavaliers in my time and the worst was an audi 80ls everything went wrong with that car from spark plugs dropping out to all the pedal cables snapping!!

My best and most loved car has also been the least reliable I've ever owned: Alfa Romeo Alfetta 1.8 1979. Had it for 5 years (1982-1987), did the head gasket twice, callipers - all four, brake servo, brake master cylinder, clutch master cylinder, drive shaft doughnuts (needed new ones every year), carburettor problems (Delortos), intake manifold leaks, alternator, rust everywhere, and lots of other things that I can't even recall now - but I loved it to bits (literally...). It drove like no other car I've had before or since. Very clever design and engineering but poorly implemented...

only had 2 previous cars, the sunny as mentioned in your other thread. Last car was a '95 Ford Mondeo 2.0 Si

Seats where better than the Omega, they were bucket body hugging ones, but the ride was apauling. Had some major problems, so got an excellent PX on it for my Omega  :)

This is not my actual car, I found these pictures on the Internet, but it is identical to the one I had (including the colour):

and that's the engine:

this car is Ivory, which was a very common colour in the seventees... mine started as Ivory but I resprayed it white.

Worst car is easy, a Nissan Cherry which was the biggest heap of junk I ever bought!

Best car is harder - Probably have to go for the Triumph GT6 as it was a delight to drive, but it needed constant work to keep it on the road...

So what did the Alfetta had that was clever? Firstly is was a sporty 4-door RWD saloon (familiar?)…

It had a double-overhead camshaft engine – almost unheard of in these days. Vauxhall were just moving from their Cam-In-Head (CIH) engine where the camshaft was on the side of the head operating the valves through pushrods, to Over-Head-Cam (OHC) where the single camshaft sat directly over the hydraulic valve lifters…. Alfa had a DOHC engine as standard for around twenty years before…

It had the gearbox at the rear of the car together with the dif – very good weight distribution! The cost was that the drive shaft rotated at the engine speed i.e. up to 7,000 rpm… so unless it was perfectly balanced the car would vibrate, and in turn all the rubber couplings along the drive shaft worked there way loose…

The rear brake disks where not on the wheel, but on both sides of the dif – this means that the sprung weight of the rear wheels was much reduced as they had no disks or callipers on them, so stuck to the road like glue.

There was also the ingenious De-Dion rear axle, which means that the rear wheels (and tyres) were always kept flat on the tarmac regarding of the body roll ensuring maximum adhesion.

The list goes on… but it was marvellous on those rare occasions when there was nothing wrong with it and it was actually road-worthy…

Best car I've ever had......my Omega of course!! ::) :y Despite some costly work when I initially got it it's definitely the most comfortable and smoothest car I've owned.

Worst was my Peugot 605 SVDT. Nothing but problems and ended up with the HG going twice. >:(

Worst car was a Nissan Bluebird blew HG after 1 week. I was in Bristol and RAC took it back to Scotland and gave me a Focus to drive home.

Best cars have to be the cavaliers I have had 1x 2.0 ecotec saloon in nautilus green (lovely colour), clutch and wheel bearing went, had no money to repair and had to scrap it  :'(  and 1x 2.0 redtop and finally 1x 2.5 v6 saloon. Loved them all.

Worst was an Orion 1.6 GLX I traded down to from my Supra! I hated it with a passion for everything about it.

I'd be pushed to identify the best car I've ever had. I've enjoyed many of them for lot's of different reasons...............

Cortina Crusader estate 'cos it was really my first.
Rover 3500 P6, 'cos I saved it from the scrappies and used it for a year or so. (Gotta lurve the V8 rumble!!).
'79 Turbo Trans Am Indy 500 Pace Car replica, ate engines like there was no tomorrow, but it was fun fun fun and boy did it attract alot of attention!!
'89 Supra, Big fast comfy moneypit but I loved it.
'89 Carlton 2.0 CDi, a complete shed, but it cost me nothing and wouldn't let me down no matter how hard I tried to kill it!!
'92 Senator, Big fast comfy and cheap as chips!!

Worst was a Renault thing which was unreliable and very basic.

Best what for - fun would be the Sunbeam, otherwise the Carlton.

Most fun vehicle was a bike
