Opel Autoscanner
« on: 30 January 2007, 15:49:01 »

Just before Xmas I bought a Opel Autoscanner not a cheapo one Mid priced one, but need
a laptop with a serial port. Tried a USB to serial from the Far East it does not like that.
Next thought I would try a pcmcia to serial Auto Scanner does not like that.

Next bought a UK made USB to serial [chip inside UK designed] after a few tweaks can now read ECU, Gearbox, etc [ have'nt tried them all]

Its getting better after speaking to the USB support desk I may be be able to get the PCMCIA
card working

Thinks are looking up -- now need to understand what it all means
And have the time to play.   :y :y :y :y

So what can you actually do with it? Just read fault codes or make changes etc?

So it can do live readings and stuff? I didn't think that was possible on Vauxhalls, but was impressed when I saw a lad in work do something similar in his Audi using VAG-COM.

Can you change any settings with it?

You reset things and make adjustments from the look of it.

It cost £235.00 -needs to order six to get this price

It come from Armenia, the guy who is importing them joined this forum -
i know he hasn't been around due family illness problems

His web site www.opelscan.com - on hold for the above reasons [he knows it nota VX on their at the moment]

Don't have picture of the inside.
