1.9TDi A6 is underpowered, particularly when the turbo ain't working ::)

Typical, std, crap audi front suspension set up - a friggin nightmare

Last Audi I drove was at D reg and I thought it was crap - prefered the 1.8 Cavaliers, my favourite cars at the time were the 2.0 Carltons

I used to deliver cars for a Vauxhall dealer

:y Had 2 carltons. A manual and an auto.

I had a 2.0 GLi for over 5 years

Had two of the A6, first one was 2.5tdi but it was the first A6 model and it never ever broke down. but had a crash once in it (wasnt guilty and thought to repair it myself before the insurance finished their job and my god it was expensive (one headlight, bumper strip and a leveling motor9 was around 1000 pounds.
The other Audi was 1.8 turbo second generation and it was comfortable and traction was amazing but never saw such a small engine consume so much fuel ;D

Been looking for an Omega estate but have found one or two nice Audi A6 avant 2.5 TDI quattro's for sale and just want to know if any body has had one or knows anything about them i.e faults, weak points, good points etc etc :)

They are like an audi A4, but a bit bigger :y

Whats the A8 like then?  ::)

Massive. ;D

My last job was driving for Audi collecting cars from show rooms and moving them around for test drives :) Fantastic job, as a girly I got all the top cars as they thought I would be a safer/slower driver than the lads ;D how wrong were they :D :D :D :D Any way the A8 is an amazing car to drive and One day I will earn enough money to buy one :y The A6 was also a nice car but after the A8 felt small  ;D ;D ;D

Rather like the Volvo T5 AWD and XC70, will empty your wallet without your ever knowing.  Really too sophisticated for comfort - nice in theory but punishing in financial reality ;) :y

I ran an XC70 T5 belore I bought the Omega.  It was a great car but  hated the 5 speed manual shift.  The dealer rates however were horrendous so I sold it on.  Still miss it from time to time :y

One of my mates got an Audi A6 V6 3.0tdi Quattro a while ago. Verrry nice car - lovely to drive with plenty of ooomf (mind you, he hasn't outpaced me in my MV6 ::)), great handling and superb interior.
Downside is that it's really expensive for servicing and repairs if done by Audi dealership.

Not a fan of Audi's..  Very expensive to buy and maintain (part prices same as mercedes here), some models really unreliable..

Main service in my country for Audi is crap and expensive and their behaviour to customers is briefly "take it or leave it" basis..

if I would spend that much money,  my preference will definitely be BMW 330 or 530..

fairly bullet proof engines i think, but expensive when they go wrong!
I'd second that !!!!!!!!!!!
New fuel injection pump, fitting, coding to immobiliser etc, please sit down, £1900.00, neighbour 3 doors down had this done last year. His is a 2001 car. Diesel specialist said it wasn't the first one he'd done, other than that I haven't heard a bad word. VW / Audi have a Trade Club as well, so normal servicing parts are very reasonable. Hard seats and a very hard ride in the sporty models.

Audi is mega over rated.

In the mid 90's they were reliable, the later variants (A4 and A3 being the worse) are far from it.

The A6 is OK, bloody ugly arse though.

As usual, the VAG group petrol engines are pretty mediocre!
