Gold dust

I picked it up from Bridgwater last night, drove it back to my girlfriends, I've done about 125 miles in it so far. I'm really pleased with it.
Got all the toys I didn't think I would get, plus soon to be more!
Immaculate inside, all the original "Omega" mats which look like they've not been stood on.
At first, handling felt different, but then I remembered it has different springs than the V6 and no speed sensitive steering. It's OK.
The Bodywork, although not without a few negligile marks here and there, is not rusty or battered about in any way at all like most Omegas that age.
Engine - fantastic. Starts on first turn of they key. Smooth all throughout the gears, and brakes are a LOT sharper now I've given it a run. Obviously not as powerful as a V6, but it doesn't feel at all underpowered, and will be even better when I Service it and do the breather/ICV/Throttle body cleanup.
As far as that tapping noise goes, I whipped off the Aux belt (under a light at tesco's!) because I was concerned about cambelt tensioner. It went away with Aux belt off, and I can see that it's being caused by the alternator. Fine - I've got these coming out of my ears.
Just about to order all the bits I need from Autovaux, EG cambelt kit, water pump, new aux belt, service items.
Need to talk nicely to Jaime about programming me a couple of keys at some point.
Must be honest, I think i've finally got a goodun.
