LED's
« on: 20 February 2007, 16:43:17 »

I saw a car last week running blue led's as his side lights - looked nice but bit chavvy for me.

I also saw an idiot using blue led's as indicator bulbs - flashing blue - muppet.

So I found myself wandering around Ebay and wondered about white ones as a simple upgrade to the blue tinted Phillips ones I have fitted at present as they've lost their initial blue look.

Trouble is they seem to be for off road use only - there are 4 leds. 6 leds and rainbow ones but I was thinking of something like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BRIGHT-LED-SIDE-LIGHT-INDICATOR-CORNER-DASH-BULBS-WHITE_W0QQitemZ140083047832QQihZ004QQcategoryZ10424QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem

Are they really that bright???

Typicaly LEDS are very bight but, they achieve this by focusing the light output through a very small angle (hence the viewing angle is key on LEDs), I suspect this is why they are not road legal.....
