Looking ok, no rain on Friday and Saturday but, get your tents down by lunchtime on Sunday!

I foresee a repeat of Tuesday morning, where it starts persisting down just as I'm pulling the tent pegs out of the ground.  >:(

Weather is quite exceptional at the moment.  Lots of sun and cloud, bit windy, but far nicer than last years monsoon :y

Oh, well. Hopefully I won't have to go out on an emergency tent peg run to cope with it this week. If I remember to bring them, and the mallet. :-[

See you on Friday. :y

.. Another thing to bear in mind when camping this weekend. If you need to get up at an ungodly hour for a pee, keep your eyes open. Might seem a silly request but I had the chance encounter of a lifetime on Saturday morning when doing exactly that. (and no, it wasn't Darth L-K lurking in the bushes)  :o

Whilst walking back from the loo block to the tent I saw two bright objects in the sky climb from the Western horizon to a position pretty much overhead before disappearing from view.

These were clearly not aircraft related. Far too high and moving far too fast for that. The relative positions of the two objects also changed during the pass quite noticeably, making it unlikely that they were a pair of satellites in orbit, or so I thought.

Anyway, I noted the time - about 0520 BST on the 29th, and made a mental note to do a bit of digging.

I've now found out what it was. The launch of Space Shuttle mission STS-128 - Shuttle and discarded fuel tank!

How cool is that?  8-)
