Exactly,they take a big wedge from what you earn,give a bit of it back to you because you have children,then expect you to be grateful enough to vote for them. ::)

ive been getting 630 for the last 3 years, it went up this year to 670, now its gone down to 530 as the eldest goes to college, it will go up to 765 now my youngest son lives with me. if you are divorced or seperated and you have your kids for over 100 days a year you qualify for a good amount of money. ???

My wife pays £1000+ income tax each month....and I get the child tax credit........£20.80p.

You don't get that much even if you are not working, unless you are talking annually :-/

Hmmm.  I'll look into this.  Don't qualify for child benefit, because even though I pay full taxes I am treated even worse than the locals.  ::)

I have three children so get quite a bit.

I pay too much tax anyway so claiming it back is worthwhile.
