Better at 6and a bit K than 10 !!!!

yes, the 10k one was the Adventure, which on paper is not that much better.

Bigger fuel tank, fog lights, slightly longer wheel base, slightly better seat, bigger screen.

First day i test rode these it was very, very windy, which blured the differences.

Today, i actually found the standard GS better! Slightly easier to manage too, due to the weight.

Much easier on the mullet too  8-)

Looking forward to doing some camping trips  :)
Well get it cut then :D

Will do! I feel better on the GS than the MT, its much more stable under heavy braking.

Its also got a lot of presence, with its unusual styling, so its noticed more than the usual rocket bikes.

far better price. And your happy which is all that matters. Slight concerne over the mileage, but i guess they can handel it.

Road of bones next? Or school run with the other 4by4s? It IS the proverbial Toyota land cruiser. :-)

Millage is high, but still get 12 month warranty, and its just had 30k service. It also rode just as good as the demo bike with 1k miles. They sold the bike from new and its only done motorway miles, hence it felt so good.

If anyone has 20 mins spare, this is a very interesting read:

Worth reading it all the way through if you have time, i would LOVE to do something like that, but it needs serious planning and investment.

one day.... Very experienced riders by the looks.

Managed a trip to the bol dor at Paul ricard near Marseille once. Ferry to Bilbao and ride across the Piranese. A relatively short "long trip" fairly eventful for our group of 5. Some dodgy car drivers, in the uk, one side swiped a panier on a mates exup, and we hadnt even got to plymouth, no problem with car drivers in europe. A puncture. A crash on diesel,me. ::), thunder storms that held up the 24 hour race for 6 or so hours. One hell of a show though. Flooded the camp site. When we left, abandoned tents all over the place and a couple of gold wings up to the seat in water. Not fun.

Not to mention the head f*** of riding on the wrong side of the road. Camping often means a poor night sleep which i hate as it affects concentration the next day.

Often fancied a lap of the med, ferry to bilbao ride to Gibralter ferry across to north Africa and ride round to Turkey and Grease and back up that way through croatia. Would never get through Libya i guess.Isreal could be interesting. :-(
Realisticly better the other way and get the ferry back to Italy if stuck.

Trouble is, so many things beyond your controle.....
Plus i think i've used up all my luck on bikes.

I wish I had £6k to spend on a bike  :-/  ( I wish I had £6K to spend on a car  :'().  Nice piece of kit (styling is an acquired taste).  Just remember, no matter how much road presence, how comfortable, how 'confidence inspiring' it is, the roads are a dangerous place to be on a bike (no matter how fast of slow you are going).  Take care on your new toy
