Just a quick run around the block in an Omega!  :D

Exactly! any old excuse to bomb up the motorway in the Omega! Also, I wouldn't mind someone else driving mine or sitting in someone else's. People always talk about how quiet their Omegas are - mine certainly isn't to me!
Anyway I've ordered a cambelt kit and water pump - I may even stretch to a gearbox upgrade if Tech2's making an appearance, sounds worth it reading the post about it.

So, currently we have the following experts lending a hand:
Marks_DTM_Calib
Laidback66
Me (expert in the loose sense ;))

And the following coming:
MaxV6 (confirmed) - Cambelt, waterpump, handbrake, HID fix - Parts, I will get
Theolodian (probable) - HID fix - Parts, N/A
Manbafia (Confirmed) - Cambelt, waterpump - Parts, member will get
BazMV6 (unknown) - a check over - Parts, N/A
Kevin Wood (unknown) - Cruise enable - Parts, member will get stalk.

Those above please confirm if you're coming, and confirm the list above is correct please.

Yup, no problem. Just ensure the stalk is the 4 wire variant (the common one), not the 2 wire one as used on 2.5TD Omegas...

Cruise stalk on facelift Omega's are a piece of piss, really are!

5 min job, 2 mins on tech2. Done. Best mod I ever had done on mine, and it was a £300 factory fit option!  :o

Fitting the stalk is easy - 5 screws. Enabling it in the ECU is a little more challenging, unless you have a tech2 ;)

if it hasn't arrived, I have an old spare used one somewhere or other, let me know before too late on friday eh?  you're welcome to it...

Failing that i have a fairly new one on the Sintra, which isn't in use right now...  I could whip that off and you can simply swap it out for your shiny new one when it does finally arrive.. and return my one from the Sintra (yes they are the same part....   I discovered this... when I had my brake light switch replaced last year, they fitted the wrong one and my cruise stopped working....  after being charged a couple of hours for "diagnostic investigation" without remedying the sudden failure of cruise control after the service , I swapped the stalk out....    then the switch ( with contortionist assistance from a friend ) , needless to say the general manager got a snotty letter and I won;t use that garage again....


That way you'll at least be able to ,make the most of the weekend's events...

You can list me as a maybe. I can't confirm until Friday because of kids football comittments. Don't need anything doing but would like to come say hello and maybe get gearbox upgrade if time permits.  :)
