It doesn't really matter what you do to a four pot, it wont be mistaken for a cop car. ;D

Zulu77 , Im just saying that if i drive an omega , wear a police cap , have my handcuffs in my bum bag and have an extra interior mirror ( like some police cars do ) Would that mean im impersonating a policeman!

Anyone can drive an Omega, and anyone can fit an Extra mirror. (Driving instructor....)

Carrying cuffs in your bag wouldn't in itself be impersonation - you may have legitimate reason, such as UK Border officer, security guard...  (and even if you don't have a reason, if you're not overtly carrying them, you can't be impersonating anyone) :P

Only the highlighted bit, might amount to impersonating a constable AFAIK  :P

Some years ago I drove a White Rover P6,  I was also a Cub leader in a group that had Sea Scouts, so I could wear the Sea Scout uniform if I wanted. White peaked cap often sat on the front dash or rear parcel shelf :y :y :-X

I personally wouldn't chance it, people that are in the know would spot it's not a police car easily. I.e. no headlight washers and xenon's, too old, your custom exhaust, lack of extra aerials. I think if you wore a police hat you'd be asking for trouble. I think adding adding extra aerials extra mirror's etc could be done and no problems from that. But a hat? Bad idea. Imagine if one of the people who don't know much about cars, or police cars saw you in a line of traffic wearing your hat flagged you down, or you drove past an accident. What would you say? I'm sure the police wouldn't be too happy. I'd say yes to extra mirrors and aerials if you want, but a big no to clothing etc.

i no mate ... was just a bit of fun .

I  drove up to my local tesco sunday night where shropshire modified and performance club hang out ... It was funny when I stopped and chatted , and they commented that they thought it was a copper ( from about half a mile away ) lol

Just a laugh !

I have a cap upstairs with "police Academy" on it ... worn it for years at work , they just thought i was some geek who liked the films !

I sport an extra mirror --- angled to keep an eye on the youngster in the back seat. Also have a hi-vis jacket in the car ( but in the boot) for work purposes (the odd times that I am prancing around some dim and dismal country lane it comes in useful -- nice and warm too -- hate it cos I look like a christmas tree!). Have a couple of chequered fleeces too -- but wouldn't risk taking them in the car (one day will remove the reflective bands cos they are good fleeces).
Cuffs have long been confined to the bedroom drawer  ::)
