FFS, how could they do a proper oil change through a dip stick tube. :-/
Before anyone flames me - I must mention that I continue to change engine oil by removing the sump plug.
However - just to encourage healthy debate...
I recently bought an oil transfer pump, designed for clean and environmentally friendly oil changes.
My main intention was for the easy removal of oil from spark plug wells, and waterways when doing head gaskets, etc - to save time and reduce mess.
I did however decide to have a go with the engine on my car.
Stuck the required pipe down the dipstick tube, began the pumping process - and, fair enough, it did it's job.
Just as a test, I then removed the sump plug, and didn't get anything extra out aside of a few drips.
So while I agree with the sentiment - it's better and quicker to remove the sump plug - I think for certain applications, the oil transfer pumps have a place
