Omegas are great, but
« on: 17 March 2007, 20:44:54 »

...if there is one car that I'd rather own it is one of these:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=010&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=200089898634&rd=1&rd=1

I am, of course, not including hugely expensive luxury cars. Just the ones within reach of the average owner.

Like a lot of Jap designed for Jap market cars, suffers from lack of suspension travel at front end, needing stiffer springs to overcome, compromising handling....

My brother has had one from new in 2000.Expensive to service and parts (dealer only)also very expensive. Nice car to ride in,not so good to drive, very boring-like most Jap 'luxury' cars.
My brother quite likes it,mind you, saying that, his other car is a 1953 Austin Atlantic ! ;D

As a car to be driven in, the Legend is excellent.

As a car to drive, forget it, if you want any involvement!

Beautifully smooth and quiet. Has even more toys than an Elite!  :o

However, it is completely uninvolving with dead over assisted steering, far too soft suspension and really quite sedate acceleration.

Oh and the fuel economy really is not good!

A friend had a 98 model up to last year and I drove it quite a bit. He ended up selling and buy a 97 Merc E320.

I have owned the 3.2V6 coupe, and that would out accelerate most things, especially from 50 upwards, the kick down was awesome

What a smashing car that was, I had a pale blue one with an aftermarket electric powered hood. Had her for 8 years before the family came first, she was a bit thirsty.
